Well I'm afraid this week's post has to start with my highlight of the week!
On Saturday I received an email from my brother reminding me to take part in the RSPB 'Big Garden Birdwatch', at the very same time that I was texting him to do the same!
But much more amazing than that was that as I was reading his reply I looked out of the window to see the most beautiful barn owl (actually they are all beautiful aren't they, especially that close?!) gliding in low and landing in the garden in front of me, at 16.05 in the afternoon!!!
In a frenzied rush I seized my camera but in the few seconds it took, he was gone!
Racing outside I spotted him perched on the boundary fence and although it's a pretty poor photo I managed to take it before the click of the camera made him take flight again!
Wow that really made my weekend and hopefully it was just a taste of the birdlife to come!
And it makes this week's other album shots of overhead flying geese (again, photos taken rather hurriedly!) all seem quite mundane by comparison!
Now to construction matters!
Actually this week's photos don't really need an explanation as they show the finished stairs and doors, which were work in progress last week and which were followed this week with the commencement of the steps and ramp at the back of the house.
And just a little footnote: I'm not sure it's one to be shouting about, but you may have noticed that it's Week 52 this week!!! Goodness, where did that year go???!!!
